We’re open to submissions for publication on the Wordfyle platform. Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your work to ensure your best chance of acceptance. These guidelines are subject to occasional revision, so please re-check them each time before you make a submission.
We prefer contemporary mainstream fiction and - though we don't look for genre fiction - will consider any story that would have general appeal to a broad audience.
We publish some non-fiction too, but no current affairs, journalism, contemporary social commentary, or poetry please. If you wish to submit a prose essay for consideration, it should be generally applicable to a wide audience, be engaging, and have an original or thought-provoking topic.
Stories must be imaginative, strive for originality, and always adhere to the basics of good writing: well-edited; a clear and engaging writing style; interesting characters; good plot and pacing. And don't forget theme! We like themes that are universally and timelessly relevant to people and their lives, in stories and articles that illuminate aspects of the human condition.
Submissions should be at least 1,200 words long and no longer than 8,000 words.

We don’t serialise novellas or novels. You may submit multiple (unrelated) stories, however you are only permitted one submission under consideration at a time.
We are not interested in explicit sex or violence, or excessive profanity. Keep in mind that any age classified content will limit audience reach, or even prevent publication altogether.
We consider works from unpublished as well as previously published authors.
We don’t seek exclusive publishing rights ("first rights"). It can be one of your stories previously published elsewhere ("reprint"), but it is your responsibility to ensure that publishing it on Wordfyle does not infringe any other publisher’s terms (i.e. no simultaneous "first rights" submissions please). Please check our latest terms for complete publishing conditions.
On acceptance of your submission we pay an initial credit per story, and additional earnings are accumulated per story at a pay-per-read rate thereafter*.
When submitting to us, you also have the option of automatically admitting your published story into any currently running competition.
You can submit whenever you like — there is no submission time window. Submissions can only be made using our online web platform. Join to create a writer account (ensuring you tick the Writer role on sign-up or in Account Details). Submissions made any other way will not be considered (i.e., no email, postal, or DM submissions please).
To submit a composition, create a new content item in your Wordfyle Desk on the website, and — only when it is ready for publication — click the “Submit” button. You cannot alter the content once it has been submitted, so please make sure the text is final before clicking that submit button.
Our response times vary, but note that Plus subscribers’ submissions will be reviewed before Free writers’ accounts.
We do not accept text generated by AI tools. We want authentic written creations, inspired and crafted by and for humans. Attempting to submit artificially generated texts will result in a ban from making any further submissions.
All submitted content must be written in the English language.
If unsure whether your story would be for Wordfyle, please just submit it.
Most of all ... we look forward to reading your creations!
